GAZT, Labor Ministry ink information-sharing agreement
2 November, 2017
The General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) has entered into an information-sharing agreement with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two entities and provide a suitable mechanism that allows them to obtain data they need in order to efficiently carry out their tasks.
The agreement was signed by HE the Governor of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi and Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed Al-Humaidan.
The agreement reflects the GAZT and the Ministry's keenness to share their information related to the provision of e-services through verification, inquiry and integrated information.
The Ministry is working with the GAZT to raise awareness about the need for establishments to submit Zakat and income statements in order to avoid penalties.
The two parties to the agreement made a presentation showing the services to be developed and launched as well as the information to be provided by each party.
The agreement includes information exchanges in the fields of data verification, inquiry and update. This will avoid mistakes in data entry and verify data matching between the two parties in order to help launch e-services that contribute to easier use and provide consistent data for study purposes.
As per the agreement, the two parties will be linked through the Government-Secure-Network (GSN) or the Government Service Bus (GSB) available by the e-Government Program "YESSER", or through direct connection.
This agreement is a part of the efforts exerted by the two sectors to apply the principle of integrated work, organizing the implementation of joint tasks and offering technical, legal and procedural support to the two parties. It also provides accurate data through coordination between the competent departments of the two parties.
